Cons
No optical drive
Although Mac Mini MC815LL/A is a powerful machine, there are a few drawbacks, one major one is there is no optical drive on the device; although still desireable, it will not be the most desireable for certain consumers for this reason. Without the optical drive, you can’t connect home theater and other wiresless devices, so this is a major drawback which wasn’t considered.
Pricey
Another drawback to the mini computer is the major price tag which comes with owning this mini device. Yes, it does offer great graphics capabilities, great storage capacity, smooth functioning, and allows you to be “greener,” than other computer models out there, but, at close to $700 (on peer to peer sales sites, more expensive through Apple), it can really set you back a big amount.
Low power output on the graphic card (Small drawback, you don’t even notice)
Another major drawback for some consumers is the intel HD 3000 graphics, and that only 10 wattage power is used, when the older model used up to 35 watts power. So, some consumers have complained that the graphics are lacking, and the lack of power and watts, is really a drawback for some consumers out there.
Who should buy?
So, if you are really into graphics design, low power supply requirements, and just want a powerful and quick machine, this is a great machine to purchase.
